First research stay of our Mercator Fellow
From July until mid-September 2025, we welcomed our Mercator Fellow Einat Levy-Gigi for her first extended research stay at our RTG at Saarland University.
Einat met in person with all the PhD students and most of the associated members to discuss their research proposals, ask questions, review related literature and explore potential challenges.
She also suggested multiple potential new projects, perspectices and collaborations between students from different labs and met with the respective students and their PIs to discuss and develop these ideas.
As part of an expanded journal club, Einat gave a talk on “Flexibility: concept & measures” about different ways to define and measure flexibility based on various existing theories, and how her personal perspective has evolved over the years.
She also offered a meeting on parenthood, productivity, and academic life as part of the writing week. During this meeting, she shared her personal experiences and perspectives and answered questions on these topics.
