Writing week 2025
From September 8 to 12, our first writing week took place in the Graduate Center on Campus.
The first day started off with an introduction by our speaker Malte Friese about the importance of writing and some central insights and techniques, such as setting SMART goals and the pomodoro technique.
During the week, the PhD students met every morning, discussed their goals and started writing. At the end of the day, they met again to discuss their progress, obstacles, and successes. Coffee breaks in between allowed for spontaneous exchange and mutual support.
The writing week was complemented by a varied accompanying progam: a morning yoga session, a tips and tricks session with two postdocs from the RTG, and an open meeting by our Mercator Fellow Einat Levy-Gigi on parenthood, productivity, and academic life.
